Big utility companies are lobbying to build huge wind turbines near our homes in Bay and Midland counties. In other communities, people living and working near wind turbines have reported that the machines have hurt their health, safety, and welfare. Significant evidence exists showing that wind turbines are not the best choice for us:

  • People living near wind turbines have been known to report migraines, anxiety, and sleep deprivation.
  • Established wind farms have disrupted well water supplies. Well owners report visible dirt in drinking water from wells near wind turbines.
  • Turbines have been known to reduce property values for at least a half-mile radius. Even vacant residential land can be reduced in value by 19% to 40% when wind turbines are near.

You can stop this threat to our community. Beaver Township is considering adding wind and energy regulations to its zoning ordinance book. The township is holding a Public Hearing at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 26 at Zion Lutheran Church and School of Auburn, 1557 Seidlers Road.

Get informed and involved.  A well-informed wind energy populace is the wind industry’s greatest fear.

I do not want to see these wind turbines in our community. They operate in a way that negatively impacts the people in these communities by impacting their safety, health and welfare.
