Earlier Bay County DTE activity

Other townships residents should continue to watch

The earlier Bay County DTE wind project record included Monitor, Kawkawlin, Beaver, and Garfield townships. Beaver is already listed above because it is also named in the current reported proposal. Monitor, Kawkawlin, and Garfield are listed here as historical project communities. This does not mean they are part of the current 254 MW Beaver-Williams proposal.

Why these townships are listed A 2019 Michigan State University research table identifies Monitor, Kawkawlin, Beaver, and Garfield as the Bay County DTE wind project communities. Save Our Skyline campaign files also document public outreach in Garfield and Kawkawlin. Fraser Township appears in the broader regional ordinance and meeting history, but the source reviewed does not identify Fraser as part of that DTE project. Read the 2019 study ↗

Township planning and meetings

A project discussion may appear on a regular agenda, a planning commission agenda, or a special meeting notice. Check the official source before attending.

Beaver Township

Request planning and meeting notices from the township office

Beaver Township uses its township office as the main public contact. Ask the clerk for board and planning commission schedules, agendas, minutes, special meeting notices, zoning information, and any DTE correspondence.
